Volunteering
.
The
MGH equestrian Center could not exist without volunteers. More than 50people
volunteer their time at the MGH Center each year. By volunteering, you
can learn about people with disabilities, horses and make new friends.
You'll gain tremendous satisfaction from watching the participants enjoy
contact with horses physically, mentally and emotionally. You will give
back to your community while having fun! Regardless of where you live,
the MGH Equestrian Center will welcome you. To learn more about volunteering,
call (256) 761-3364 or 3365 and ask for the Volunteer Coordinator, Maegan
Fridal. You can also email her at fridal.maegan@mgharena.com

MGH
Center Volunteers assist in a variety of ways.
Leading horses during lessons
Sidewalking (walking alongside the horse to offer the rider support when
needed)
Grooming horses
Tacking up horses
Cooling out horses
Cleaning tack
Horse care
Helping with fund-raisers
Participating in public relations
Assisting with administrative duties
Planning of Special Events
Anything else that needs doing!
The
MGH Center accepts volunteers 14 years of age and older. However, children
younger than 14 who have a strong horsemanship background are often considered.
By
volunteering, you can learn about disabilities, horses and make new friends.
You'll gain tremendous satisfaction from watching your riders improve physically,
mentally and emotionally. But most of all, you will be making life brighter
for individuals with disabilities.
